Closet Conscious started when I realized that in March 2024, my wife told me to wear this shirt to the birthday dinner date that she bought from Tokyo for me a year ago. However I didn’t know that the shirt existed. However, when I went to my closet, I realized that it was in the back of my closet.
From then, I realized, I may not be alone in this problem…
We decide not to work with brands as, Closet Conscious is a startup, and do not have the ability and capacity to review if the partners we are working with are actually sustainable. These are some articles that we have found about greenwashing that were only discovered down the track.

In addition, we also question the basis of recycled textile, as we watched a documentary about how it might be created.
At Closet Conscious, we believe change starts with individual. Our mission is to empower people to discover their unique style, cherish what they already own, and make conscious choices that align with sustainability—all while enjoying the process of “shopping their closet.”
By focusing on individuals, we aim to inspire a shift in how people interact with fashion. Every time you choose to wear and love what’s already in your closet, you contribute to reducing unnecessary demand. This ripple effect challenges overproduction and promotes a culture of mindful consumption.
While corporations play a significant role in the fashion ecosystem, they are often driven by the pressure to achieve unlimited growth—an unsustainable approach on a planet with finite resources. However, corporations only respond to consumer demand. By making intentional choices as individuals, we collectively encourage companies to adapt, innovate, and prioritize sustainability.
